Educational version

The Addict’s Wake tells the story of how addiction impacts one tight-knit community, but the issues have ramifications for neighborhoods, towns, and cities across the country. The film is just a start. Whether you’re walking alongside someone struggling with addiction, seeing the effects of the addiction epidemic in your own area, or are new to the issue, we hope you’ll be inspired to learn more.

A film for educators and classrooms about drug addiction

Several thousand overdose deaths hit American teens each year. Tens of thousands more are experimenting with potentially addictive substances. Now, the creators of the award-winning documentary The Addict’s Wake have produced dynamic new material specifically targeted to middle, high school, and college students examining addiction issues and recovery solutions from their perspective. Prevention-minded educators can use this material to spark discussions on the drivers of addictive behavior, including mental health, isolation, stigma, connection, new therapies, and a path forward for those struggling with this life-or-death issue.
